Gardens By The Bay, Singapore

Singapore is a modern city-state. The island country offers glitz and glam of a cosmo feel city and it's no wonder that our trip down is always about shopping and dining. It's no brainer that visiting a huge garden smacked in the middle of the city wasn't part of our itinerary although it is voted #2 as things to do in Singapore by Tripadvisor.
This time around proves otherwise. While going on a day trip to Singapore with somebody who is a plant lover and  an avid admirer of Hollands's tulip festival, Gardens by the Bay is the place to go.

Gardens by the Bay is located at Marina Bay and  spans across 101 hectares of reclaimed land. The nearest MRT station is Bayfront. If you're worried of the walking distance, shuttle service is available at only SGD2. If not, take a slow walk, the Garden is hard to miss with its architectural grandeur.

The Garden admission is generally free except for a few attractions. Although not exactly a plant lover myself, I was impressed with the size of the garden already. Inside the Flower Dome where the tulips were being displayed, I was greeted with an array of colours. The tulips were also tastefully decorated with different themes, a nice touch to an artsy feel.

Under the same roof itself, there are even desert plants. Talking about visiting the Wild Wild West, you don't even have to venture far.

Another part of a must visit attraction is the Cloud Forest. In here, at 35 metre tall, is the worlds tallest indoor waterfall. Due to the cool-moist surrounding, it makes it more enjoyable to take the walkways instead of the lift to visit the waterfall.

This is so far the closest shot we've ever got on the Sands and it is on the OCBC Skywalk right in the Gardens.

This Garden is huge and there were many more attractions to explore and to be done. It is indeed a beautiful manicured garden itself complementing the view of its surroundings. Most importantly, stepping inside the garden feels dreamy like and you'll most probably forget that you're actually in a city.
